The Builder's Era: Why the Next Great Veterinary Software Will Come From Clinicians, Not Companies

For decades, veterinarians have adapted their workflows to fit the software they were given. That era is ending. With AI-powered development tools like Claude Code, Lovable, Bolt, and Replit now capable of turning plain-language descriptions into working applications, the cost of creating custom software is collapsing toward zero.  In this interactive session, Dr. Adam Little explores what happens when the people who understand veterinary medicine best can simply speak software into existence: purpose-built tools for triage, client communication, inventory, analytics, and workflows that no vendor would ever prioritize. As practice management systems begin to open their APIs and data becomes more accessible, we're on the cusp of an explosion in clinician-built software that is hyper-personalized, immediately useful, and radically cheap. Through live examples, emerging patterns, and open discussion, we'll examine where this is already happening, where the biggest opportunities lie, and what it means for the future of veterinary practice when every doctor is a potential builder.
