Allen W Hahn Lifetime Achievement in Veterinary Informatics Award The Association for Veterinary Informatics announced the institution of the Allen W Hahn Lifetime Achievement in Veterinary Informatics Award in 2019. This annual award was created to draw attention to those individuals who have been leaders and dedicated their career to the discipline of veterinary informatics and the ways in which it advances the practice of veterinary medicine. We named the award after Dr. Allen W. Hahn who during his career had a profound impact on the discipline of veterinary informatics and on subsequent generations through mentorship and encouragement. Those selected are recognized by AVI as having a profound impact, leadership, mentorship, and dedication in their career to veterinary informatics like those pioneers before them such as Dr. Hahn. We hope by recognizing those individuals, we will inspire the next generation to follow in these leaders’ footsteps and grow the field of veterinary informatics beyond where it is today. 2019 Inaugural Al Hahn AwardFrom left to right: Duane Steward (Chair Al Hahn Award Committee), Dennis Ballance (AVI Treasurer), Julie Green (Hahn Award Committee), Eli Larson (AVI Education Chair), Rachael Kreisler (AVI President-Elect), Wayde Shipman (Hahn Award Committee), Craig Carter (2019 inaugural Hahn Award recipient), Jonathan Lustgarten (AVI President), Kerri Marshall (Interoperability Committee), Michael Martin (member and speaker), Sonnya Dennis (AVI Immediate Past President), Pamela Okerholm (AVI Secretary) | Online EducationAVI members have free access to our on demand education portal!
