We’re starting something new: the AVI AI Papers Club. It’s a casual, open discussion of one AI paper or topic that matters for veterinary medicine. Christopher Pinard, DVM DVSc DACVIM (Oncology), David Brundage, PhD, and our president Brian Hur, DVM, PhD will kick things off. Then we open it up, and anyone is welcome to jump in.
Session 1: Why the Harness Matters
When people compare AI tools, they usually compare the models. But the code around a model (what it sees, what tools it can use, how its work gets checked) can matter just as much. We’ll talk about what that means for AI tools in the clinic, plus new decision models like TypeSafe’s Jev. No technical background needed. If you’d like a head start, here are a few things to look at. Reading is optional, and coming with questions is just as welcome.
